Elizabeth called asking for a head shot appointment after seeing Luz’s head shots. What a lovely and sweet woman Elizabeth is. It was wonderful working with such a lovely model!

Chef Athena Palombi on Fox 40 Live {Sacramento Photographer}

Yesterday I was up with the birds to head out to the filming of Fox 40 Live. Chef Athena Palombi was presenting a cooking demonstration and wanted a few still shots. Athena lives in the fast lane (unlike myself) and sometimes I get a call to document it for her. It’s always a fun adventure for me. She has become a sweet friend as well. After the Fox 40 Live shoot we went to the Sacramento Capital Museum to get a few “glamor” shots for her as well. Athena is a fantastic chef and  as you see, a beautiful woman.

Yum! These are her Gluten Free Turkey Meatballs.

Darren Peck, the meteorologist at Fox 40 Live continued his reporting as Athena shared her wonderful food with the crew.

Paul Robins and Bethany Crouch are the hosts and anchors of “FOX40 Live”, the morning show on Sacramento’s Fox Television affiliate (KTXL). Such nice people.

2011 Wedding Highlights!

2011 was a wonderful year full of beautiful brides and handsome grooms. Here is a quick recap of some of my favorite memories of my year of weddings.

Shari Fitzpatrick (Shari’s Berries)

Who doesn’t like chocolate and strawberries? Yum! Today at the Granite Bay Golf Club the Christian Business Roundtable hosted a lunch with Shari Fitzpatrick as the guest speaker. Shari is a doll and full of so much life and energy. As she told us a bit about her journey in the business world she also shared some of her wonderful chocolate covered berries with us! She has just released a book called Berried in Chocolate…cute name! Shari also has a new line of products coming out soon, so be on the look out!

Rachel and Hanno’s Nevada City Wedding {Nevada City United Methodist Church} {Stonehouse Event Center}

Rachel and Hanno are just about the kindest couple around! They came from San Francisco for a destination wedding in Nevada City. Rachel was raised in Nevada City, but Hanno, well he is from South Africa and has the accent to prove it! They are so in love and it is awesome to catch a glimpse of that kind of sweet joy. Johnny and I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding at the Nevada City United Methodist Church. (This is the church that the Hallmark Christmas movie The Christmas Card was filmed in). Then we headed to the Stonehouse Event Center just down Broad Street for their Moroccan themed reception. The food was catered by LJ’s Catering and was delicious! The music/DJ was provided by, the always amazing, Mountain Event Productions.

Monica and Tylers Wedding {Blue Goose, Loomis Ca} {High Hand Nursery, Loomis Ca)

The day was bathed in prayer…lots of it.  Last week Monica and Tyler were  married at the Blue Goose, in  downtown Loomis.  From the very start of their relationship, Jesus has been at the center. We all saw that continue, as throughout the day that they celebrated their commitment to each other in marriage with so many evidences of their Christian faith.  Never before have I seen a foot washing at a wedding…it was beautiful to witness. It was touching that Tyler had is Papa as his best man, the words that Papa spoke of Tyler were so dear. At the reception both Monica’s father and sister prayed such lovely prayers for this couple. They truly are blessed!

The day also had such fun in it!  Monica had Tyler wear a bandana around his eyes before the “first look” as the first day they met she was wearing one. They had a photo booth for everyone to “dress up” in hats and glasses. Then each person placed their photo strip in the guest book and signed around their picture! They had a table of games for people to play. And since they love coffee (one of Monica’s jobs is at a Starbucks:-) they had a mocha bar where you could order to your hearts desire!

Monica and Tyler had their first look at the Blue Goose, then we stole them away to the High Hand Nursery for their bridal portraits. What a perfect place to have taken them.

The wedding went amazingly smoothly due to Samantha Rosenberg’s coordination. The flowers were lovely and designed by Jewel Ann of Heaven Scent Flower Company. The food was delicious and catered by Randy Urby of Randy’s Creative Catering. Wendy Frielich did a gorgeous job with Monica’s hair, and Jon Nyquist did a great job with video.

Christmas at Bayside {Granite Bay Photography}

Yesterday afternoon Johnny and I were able to attend quite an amazing Christmas program at Bayside Granite Bay Church. While we waited in line to be let in, there were even carolers to bring a bit of Christmas cheer!  Lincoln Brewster, Pastor Ray Johnston, and America’s Got Talent Finalists, The Silhouettes were all wonderful. A beautiful candle lighting was at the close of the service. If you can fit a Christmas program into the last few days before Christmas, this would be one of many around the area that you can choose from. Our own church, LIFEhouse has a Christmas eve program on Dec. 23rd this year. Find one to attend and be blessed in the wonder of Jesus’ birth.
