Johnny and I had the pleasure of spending some time away in beautiful Plumas County in the Graeagle area. We totally enjoyed so many of the Basin Lakes there as well. We were blesses to vacation with our friends Don and Victoria in Graeagle where we experience their hometown parade, live bands, burgers and ice-cream! We stayed at a darling little establishment (between Quincy and Portola) that we lovingly refer to as the “resort”. Wendy and Wayne, the owners of Sierra Sky Lodge, could not have been nicer. We had comfortable rooms, a large camp-like back yard with a fire pit, a patio set and bar-b-Que, and had a couple of amazing homemade breakfasts. We sure enjoyed some much-needed fellowship with Don and Victoria! We even met new friend Clarissa at the lodge…we plan on staying in touch. 🙂
The second half of our time away was the down and dirty camping part. Yes, the kind of camping that has no running water! (We are rethinking this for next time;-) ) Johnny had a chance to fish and we both had a chance to relax and enjoy campfires and the lake view. The wildflowers, deep blue water and clear sky’s were such a welcome sight. We came home rested and blessed! If you ever have a chance to visit Lakes Basin you should…it is surly BEAUTIFUL!
(I have included a couple of pictures that Don took…one of me in the water, and “Mermaid Victoria” on the rock, after our hike together. And another one of Victoria, Johnny and I as our hike was just about over…wish Don was in it!)
